Concept Master Planning
Lively and dynamic, Louisiana Children’s Museum’s new interactive exhibit galleries at the Early Learning Village engage children and adults in playful exploration and discovery and encourage them to make joyous connections with the world.
The plan developed by Hands On!, LCM and consultant Jeanne Vergeront features five exciting galleries that address every developmentally important aspect of children’s wellbeing. Arts, music, early literacy, local culture, the river and cycles of life weave through exhibits filling approximately 28,000 square feet of space indoors and out. Supporting parent-child attachment and strong relationships, fostering health and wellness, connecting with nature, and engaging creativity and expression, each gallery is an invitation to children and adults to come play and learn.
"Hands On! has guided the organizing strategy of ‘joyous connections' that continues to shape our planning. Hands On's knowledge of international designs and creativity, as well as their skill of listening and reflecting upon the complex design needs of the project, have inspired our thinking.”
